my 2008 sputters almost backfiring on acceleration any ideas why?

Hey, On acceleration at what RPM ?? Is it fine after you get going?? If it is fine after riding wide open for example and just at around acceleration it could be your reeds. Try checking them.

Mine used to load up when idling for a long time because the oil pump was hanging up and not returning, but it never backfired.
Backfiring could be reeds like said above.
