I am running 27x11x12 on all 4 corners and the steering is not effected by the width of the front tires.
I like the option of being able to rotate fronts to rear also

The zillas are an excellent tire for all riding. Great in the mud, smooth on trails(a little rough from start but smooth out quick and are great at high speeds), excellent in snow and on hard packed. Not really to impressed in water as they don't float as well as a bigger tire would(9"fronts and 11" rears) As for the life of them, I have 450km on mine so far and spin them on soft and hard ground alot and hardly have any signs of wear. The weight is what drew me to them and I have not regretted it at all.
