So how many would give up the pipeline in exchange for a new government? Maybe the failure to get the pipeline is what it will take to get rid of the Liberals as eluded to in the previous article. Always a silver lining in a grey and gloomy cloud.

[h=1]Kinder Morgan confirms oil leak on Trans Mountain pipeline near Kamloops[/h]
Postmedia News

B.C.’s ministry of environment has confirmed a spill at a Trans Mountain pipeline pump station north of Kamloops.Spokesman David Karn said just before 5 a.m. Sunday, Kinder Morgan reported the spill, which he said was contained to the station site.“They began immediate cleanup in response to it,” he said, noting initial reports said about 100 litres spilled.Trans Mountain said in a statement that its internal safety systems alerted the company to “an operational disruption” at its Darfield pump station near Barriere, B.C.“The station was quickly isolated and, as a precaution, the main Trans Mountain Pipeline has been shut down,” the statement said. “Crews are on site and air monitoring is ongoing, with no concerns outside the pump station at this time.”
The company said the product is a medium crude blend and said no specific estimate of volume was available.
“Regulatory notifications have been completed and neighbours and other stakeholders in the vicinity have or are being notified,” they stated. In an update issued at 5 p.m., Trans Mountain officials said following inspections, the pipeline was restarted at about 3:20 p.m.B.C. resident Sharon Halliwell said someone from Kinder Morgan came to her door and told her there had been a “release” and that she would probably see and hear activity during cleanup efforts.Halliwell said the pumping station is on the far end of a field from her property. The spill comes just days before Kinder Morgan’s self-imposed May 31 deadline that would see the Calgary-based company potentially walk away from the project unless the company is given political certainty allowing it to proceed.

It's a win-win. "Exchange" the pipeline for new government (that actually f-ing functions), who then backs and green lights the pipeline! Wah-lah, new government and a pipeline.

At a pump station? That’s nothing, a blown mechanical seal can make a mess like that, but to the uneducated protesters, that will be used against KM.

A crude spill is nothing compared to a produced water spill, yah dont see those protested.

Do you think KM will accept the carrot or will KM walk away? Pretty hard on the KM shareholders if they walk away as stocks may drop quite drastically.

The idea of the Federal Government buying the project..........

at this point i have no idea! if the feds build the pipeline it will likely go into the 20 billion range or higher, KM investers will be looking hard at what trudeau is offering, interesting indeed.

hopefully Canadians see the ineptitude of the boy pm and remember it at voting time.

I wonder how they think they can manage a pipeline.? I can see the headlines down the road-firesale pricing on pipeline ,10 cents on the dollar. I’m confident it will be another huge mismanaged crown corporation.

Fed Govt gonna buy the pipeline....4.5 billion, then sell it

Totally unnecessary inefficient use of our tax dollars.
Never seen an efficient federal project yet.
If Justy boy had a pair he would have stopped the provincial BS and just let KM build the dam thing like they wanted to.
KM will get a cheap pipeline in the end.............at least better than giving it to mistreated terrorists.

The positive is it's a go!
