Looking for suggestion on a sled bigger than a 120cc for my 8 yr old as the 120 we have has been outgrown.

Depending on your budget I would look for a z370, Indy Lite, Bravo 250 or Enticer. There is a Z370 on Kijiji in Sherwood Park right now and you don't see many of them for sale.

I have a couple of 300 enticer yamaha's for my older grand kids (9 and 11) and picked up a couple of 340's this last summer to shine up for the next crew coming off of the 120's. The little yamaha's are good machines, don't have to mix gas!!

Another good choice is a BRP freestyle 300. Aircooled single, e-start and RER. Nice and light and easy to ride. They are getting hard to find though and usually a little pricey. Good luck in your search.

Yammy has the little 4 stroke Phazer. I have absolutely no experience with them so i can't say whether they are good or bad but seem like it would be a good in between sled.

A buddy of mine actually has one for sale right now in Beiseker.

If you can find a Freestyle grab it! My guy is 11 and absolutely loves his. Its the 300 single with electric start and reverse which are huge for his independence and it also makes it easier on dad's back! LOL

Hopefully I can find a 550 Freestyle Backcountry when he gets to the next level.

My boy is turning 8 in march and I just got him on a 500 summit now so he can start coming up the mountain with me. He started on a 120 at 2 then a bravo 250 and his last sled was a 340 excell 3 with e start. E start is great for kids so keep that in mind when looking. He's loving the summit now getting to rip the mountains. When we get into big meadows and lakes he rips around on my 174. He sure loves riding that. Can't keep the smile off his face. My daughter just turned 4 and she's been on the 120 for 2 seasons now. She's will be on the bravo next season. I love watching the progression of the kids on These machines.

Look for anything in an RF chassis if you are going BRP. They had a tundra and a freestyle (300) fan engine.. Perfect machine. I wish they still made them!

Just read the cat is releasing one today that is a cross between the 120 and 500. IF you are looking at a new machine.

I'd have to see one in person but looking at the cat site it appears that it is roughly the same size as the 120. Bigger seat, track, engine, actual clutch and brake but chassis is same size. Better than a 120 but not a big enough step up from the 120. This will be a good unit to mod though.
