I got 5500km. Replaced the pistons just because. Still had 120 compression. It's now sitting at 8500km on the stock crank. Maybe a fluke maybe not. But it's been the most reliable sled I've had

I got around 1200 miles on my first '08 800R, top end stuck a slug. sold the bottom end to a dude on here thinking it was fine and when he pulled it apart the center bearing was starting to come apart. tnt_salvage was the guy, if he sees this maybe he can explain more...new 800R has a couple thousand on it now and still runs like a top.

Rode with a fellow in GP that had over 10,000km on this ptek before he sold it. He didn't touch the motor. Mel just made sure he used good fuel and had his oil injection adjusted properly.

That was a 2008 also.
His 2007 made it over 7500 if I remember right.

Not unless you don't do proper warm up, maintenance, use a good oil etc. Don't believe everything you hear.

That's impressive! Those 07's and '08's are notorious for blowing cranks. They have poor bearings in them from factory. Blew my 08 at 2100 miles, and it was one of many 08's that were being rebuilt at the same time with similar miles. The 07's have the exact same motor.

6000 miles then the center crank bearing went. All just before I was about to do a top end re build. $2500 later.....
