That would be a hell of a ride down there!! I make a point of not going past trees when on a hill top like that. If there's trees there you know it's not an overhang.

thats a good one... we stop at a spot with clients all the time and ask how far out they would feel safe... this spot I know through out the year and have spen much time there in hunting season. Ive see it slid past the trees that you think are ridge line, they are larger trees that the tops stick up about 7 feet from the edge of the ridge. they are probably 25- 30 tall and they look to be about 5 feet or so when the ridge forms a cornice. Because of this spot I always give myself more space on top then I need and always keep my distance from unknown edges. This could have ended bad and I bet he never does that again.
