Hello everyone,

I am looking to get some powder coating finished on my new sled and one of the items I'm looking to do is my handlebars. I am curious though because I do not know how I would take the grips off the handlebars with out damaging them, or re-install them without damaging them. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Depends on how much glue they have on them. Compressed air with small nozzle works. The grips are cheap to buy. Your going to need the cork gasket that is under the elements anyways.

what I've done to remove grips is use a heat gun to warm them up, and then compressed air into the hole in the end of the grip. they'll balloon up and slide right off without wrecking the heat tape. do the same to install them

Are they aluminum ? If so beware when powder coating depending on the type it may have a lower melting temp and by powder coating u may be weakening them just food for thought
