ive got an 09 m1000 and i was going to mount the bag under the hood where it ays on the two bolts but on the m1000 it says to mount it off the hood up front. i think it would defeat the perpose with the snow coming in through the vents .has anyone mounted it by the pipe and have you had any melting issues.

I have it mounted with the 2 bolts on my M1000 with slp pipe and have no issues at all. The bag is almost touching the pipe but isn't a problem. I leave my spare set of goggles in it all day even on the warmest of days with no issues.

Same here! Got it on my 09 M1000 on the two bolts above pipe and now issues what so ever. Touches the pipe a bit, and I always put my lenses facing towards back of sled in the bag and not towards the pipe.

Mines melting, 09 CF 1000, mounted it to those 2 bolts, has two small spots where its conacted the pipe. It's okay if I leave the goggles out. So when I'm using it once the goggles are dry, into the backpack they go.
