How do you bring your gear and fuel into Chatter creek? Strap it onto sled or a tow behind sleigh?

Is the road/trail from the parking lot groomed or gonna be whoops?

Post this in the Golden section also. There are more peps that will know the snow and road conditions to get in.
Like 65-75km in with a vehicle off of the highway if plowed all the way.

Depends on road??????
Excellent rideing areas at Chatter!
You will enjoy your stay there.

When you leave Donaldson it about 70km of Forestry Logging Road
it is plowed but due to seasonal temperatures it does start to soften up with potholes and washboards and washout ruts.
It it a slower drive but good.

It it is a steeper climb from the lake road up to the parking lot so very good tires or chains if pulling a 4 place just to be safe.
The parkinglot is big but people need to park smart

Best to unload all gear, toboggans and sleds at the trail head then back you units up against the banks so everyone can park.
We always use toboggans to haul all the gear and fuel

Last year they were selling premium fuel right on the hill which simplifies thinks a lot.

The 17km ride in is groomed by the Chatter Creek groomer and usually great condition at the start of sled season but the lower trail melts out fast by the parking lot.

You are in sled heaven so keep your GPS and avy gear with you at all times

Have fun and post lots of pictures.

Found a calf sled for $60 at peavy, sweet thanks. Thinking of using a hockey stick to attach it to the bumper some how.

We made a drop down hitch for ours so the front of the sled stays down-ward instead of being pulled on up-wards angle, then added old burnt off hy-faxes to each side so it would track behind snowmobile. Lots of tarp-straps to keep tarp cover in place. They were selling gas there at that time.

Very lucky to ride the area for 2 years by sled, foot, and skis. Shes some sweeeet. Take camera, ppe, avy, and think twice at every turn as the range of mountains are very steep.

Post your ride report too.
