04 800 Rev 144. What is better gearing for boondocking and ditchbanging. 19/45 or 21/45? I already have DJ Clutch kit and a few other mods.

May I ask what kind of track speed doo you see running this gearing, I am running a 19-45 and only see about 38 mph when in decent snow climbing. Dino

I run 19/45 in my 154 XP and have not seen a noticable difference in speed. I'm not a rip across the lake guy though so who knows. If you like speed the 21 tooth gear is what you want. Going to a 19 just gives you a little more torque but really its not a hugh difference.

Went to a 20 tooth once , up the top speed by about 5 mph. Couldn't hold that speed while climbing...actually lost a couple mph climbing with the 20. Went back to the 19 . My point is track speed helps when your in the deep, the 20 worked well on the flats but the clutchs couldnt shift out. Sorry not a clutch guru. Dino

i had the 18 45 in my 144, i liked it, but mine was also a 600sdi. i have the 19 45 ratio in my 800 151 and it works well, thinkin of doin the 19 47 tho...

reason being when i had my 600 i had belt issues, so i geared it down and it solved my problems. now i am having some of the same problems with the 800 and i have the secondary floated with a dj clutch kit and i've toasted 2 belts in 800 km.

so correct me if i'm wrong but going to a 19 47 should have approximately the same result as goin to a 18 45 in the 600?

i am just swapping out a 2006 800 151" track to a 162" track, just wonderin how much you have to gear down for the bigger track?
