Fish Finder Ideas

Looking at buying a fish finder, Budget is $500 ,just looking for some ideas what is good and what should stay on the shelf. Was eyeing up the Lowrance and the Humming bird.

If your looking for a fishfinder/gps model keep in mind what software you need for the area your in, I just bought an Eagle not realizing there was no mapping for canada on it at all and I had a hell of a time finding software(Map card) canda topographic data for it. It was expensive too, $180 for the one I found at GPScentral.ca Some of the navionics cards are $300. I think I would go with Garmin next time, there's lots of software available for them.
