That one was my friend and his son from here in Grimshaw. Everyone is pretty rattled over it, kid was well loved around here. His pop is shook up bad. They found him and got him out but too late. Chopper couldn't land, had to leave his body overnight. Brutal.https://www.princegeorgematters.com...owing-avalanche-southwest-of-chetywnd-3448514

Thanks Ken, I wasn't close with Dylan but I've known his dad and the rest of the family since I was just little. Can't imagine the torture of having to leave your sons body out in the mountains after the recovery. Tears my guts out thinking about it.Sorry to hear Troy. My condolences to you and the the family. Never easy losing a friend.
That is actually worse than the death in my opinion. There is a feeling of guilt that you are abandoning him when the family needs him off that mountain. I would go crazy if that happened to me. I wonder if a guy would get in some kind of legal trouble doing it? We always pack an 8' tow bar skimmer in the trailer when we go after having to leave broken down sleds in the mountains, I wouldn't think twice about running back to the truck and getting it to bring someone out. I'd eat any charge for doing it, especially for a good friend or loved one.Sorry doesn’t say enough. Prayers to the family.
We lost a good friend in 2009 to an avy. 6 of us Also had to leave him in the alpine due to the police telling us so. Typing this message I can still feel how that felt. I will never leave another on the hill. I will bungee cord them to me and ride them down
