Coming Home From Yemen...Yahoooo

Its been 3 1/2 weeks over here now and the job is done. We drilled an Underbalanced oil/gas well that was a bear to drill, big fractures, with high flow rates, and green crews. We flow tested once finished drilling it flowed 24,000 bbls/day and 19mmscf/day it could of flowed more but limited do to surface equipment.
About 10 days ago it started raining and rained for 4 days straight we had about 6-8inches of water on location, and many people down in the valley died from flash flooding...homes wipes out.....mind you they are made of clay not the best building material when it rains. It was the biggest rain in Yemen since 1969. What a sight seeing rats running for high ground!!
Hope to get out for a ride while I am home, started the snow dance...hope it works!!:d

Wow... Very interesting stuff! sounds like you have yourself a demanding and fullfilling occupation. Thanks for sharing your experience. Wish I had your job :d Keep the snow dance go'in

Just got home what a long trip back big lay overs. I was on the same flight as the Russia Junior A team thats play in Camrose this week..I had no idea this tournament was going on til I spoke to the coach of the Russian team. So now I am obligated to go watch a game or two. Is there any of you planning on taking in a game if so let me know and we'll go catch a game?

Yeah we had a army escort to and from the drilling area, then there were army guys all around the area pretty crazy stuff, after the first week it becomes old hat!:d

Who's he working for Total or Nexon, I think Nabours has all the rigs working for Nexon and Total has a Chinese drilling contractor.

Yeah it is, but some of the locals that made up the crew were top notch, hard worker and positive attitudes. The biggest difference is all the armed personnel everywhere.
