Hello,This area used to be open to atv,s jeeps etc and then they closed it down but people still rode there without to many problems untill about 2001 and then they started handing out tickets etc..
Funny how the mine applied for permits to mine that whole area in 1994...the same year it was made into a wildland park.....think they just wanted us to get used to not riding there so they could mine it...??
Amyway I work at the mine and used to ride there too. I want to know if there is any interest in getting that area back to be able to ride? It would just be graveled trails but the cenery back there is awsome. We are almost done with that pit as far as I know and it would be nice to see the mine turn it back to the people now that we have moved all the mountains around...lol It actually does look nice after it's reclaimed..they have already reclaimed some areas.
Does anyone know how to go about all this? I will talk to our new mine manager. He seems to be a very easy going fellow and down to earth, not just some big hot shot.
Also if anyone has old camping/riding pictures of that area please post them!!!! I'm not looking for pictures that were taken last summer going into ruby falls, but older pics of before the mine went in there, so pre 2005. Thanks!
I have some old dirtbiking pics that I'll post later.
