Can a cat hood melt??

Just tore all insulation off bottom of hood along with the stock air system im getting the speed werx airbox for the up commin season do i have to worry about my hood taking to much heat ??? if so sould heat tape/wrap work ....?

i heat taped mine just in case,i would suck if it did melt

I always take the insulation out and then yah i just heat tape the hood around the vents where the stock insulation had reflective material.

took off the insulation and heat taped it,,,rode all season with no problems,,,have at er its a good weight saver

yes a cat hood can melt,,,,as can any hood...heat tape the heck out of it and check clearances , even with heat tape, it can still melt,, i can show you a pic of one that the guy never checked,,, rmember its heat tape not miracle tape...

Yes. Use the heat tape. I have ran mine for two years with a SLP set up with no melting
