So many AXYS aluminum arms have bent from simply catching rocks with the carbides. We felt that these new sleds should take small bumps at least as well as the Pro-Ride chassis without damage.
We have a the new "Arm Candy" brace kit that protects the weakest part of the arm where we see most failures.
We did not build this kit to stop damage from running directly into solid trees or rocks at high speed.
The first picture is very typical of a carbide catching a rock. The rear of the lower arm bends down from the mount.
The second picture is a tree incident which the front of the arm bends as it should.
The install pictures are not great as these prototypes have been on and off several times to make sure the final run was perfect.
This kit will be $199 and will be available Feb. 1st 2016. I will be out of town until then but if you want to pre-order just PM me.
ps I know my tie rod boot looks weird, it got ripped earlier in the season and that is just Goop glue for now.
