Adding length to XP cooler? 163 TO 174

Going to cut and add onto cooler and just wondering if there is anything to watch out for. Will do it under seat so you can't see welds. I know the cooler is a U cooler but can't see that the little bit that could X over from cutting and welding back to gether would be that big of a deal.
I have seen some places in the states that do this but the shipping kills you.
Thoughts.

Powderlites guys cut and weld there coolers, top secret sled shop too give them a call sure they could help you out.
