Should be able to get a S-chassis MXZ or Summit (1996-99) 583 & 670 pretty bullet proof lots or parts available still. If you can find a zx chassis 99-04 but for that price might be a little beat. Early to mid 90's Polaris Indy's are fairly affordable and reliable

Throw in a few dollars more and I'll sell you a 2000 Yamaha Mountain Max 600 that was just serviced along with new sliders. Quick sled in great shape, has great compression and 151" x 2" track. Paid 2500.00 plus the service costs and wife hasn't ridden it yet.

I would recommend a 600 cc polarais good little machine that would have some pep for a 16 year old or 700 RMK. With not as much sniw as in recent years some should be dropping their prices soon. My opinion only the used market is still high.

How bout a Summit 500, hasn't even been started in a couple years now, still full of storage oil & feul stabilizer. Wife lost interest and i don't want to carry it for another year.

Was going to suggest a summit 500 myself until i seen this post. Great little sled and pretty bullet proof. Mine has 8400 k on it and hasn't been touched and wouldn't be afraid to go anywhere with it still. Mine isn't for sale though. Makes a great spare sled.

my dad cut me a deal like that im 16 too but im mechanically inclined lol
2500.00$ had to buy me a decent sled
i got myself a 98 zr 600 EFI ( with black magic clutch, vf3 reeds, 1.5x121 track, chip, pipes etc)
its got jam but not enough to get me into to much trouble lol
i must say other than a bad throttle safety switch its been a good sled
