If yamaha does it would be a V-twin, there's no market for an in-line twin cylinder other than small displacement bikes for beginners. They also don't really follow their motorcycles for snowmobiles either. Engine design is engine design. Yes the apex is the R1 without a transmission, but the genesis 120 triple and the genesis 130 triple have nothing to do with their motorcycle line up and are yamaha's most solid motors out IMO.
