2012 F350 Mirror Glass Removal

The top mirror on my passenger side is cracked. It is a heated mirror. Just wondering if anyone knows the proper way to pop it out and replace? Cant seem to find anything on the internet.

Exterior Mirror Glass - Trailer Tow

Removal

NOTE: RH trailer tow mirror shown, LH trailer tow mirror similar.



  1. Position the exterior mirror glass fully upward and outward.
NOTE: The backside of the exterior mirror glass backing plate is shown to help with the location of the exterior mirror glass removal slot.



  1. Insert a 5 mm (3/16 in) flat-blade screwdriver into the exterior mirror glass removal slot, located on the backside of the exterior mirror glass backing plate at the inboard side of the exterior mirror glass assembly.






  1. WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Remove the exterior mirror glass.



  • Twist the screwdriver handle 90 degrees.
  • Lift outward on the lower inboard exterior mirror glass backing plate using light hand pressure.
  • Remove the exterior mirror glass from the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.
  • If equipped, disconnect the heated mirror glass electrical connector.
Installation



  1. If equipped, connect the heated mirror glass electrical connector.
  2. Position the exterior mirror glass assembly onto the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.
  3. WARNING: Place a shop towel between the hands and the exterior mirror glass for protection in case of glass breakage during mirror service. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTICE: The exterior mirror glass can break if pressure is not applied directly over the exterior mirror glass pivot assembly.

Place a hand against the back of the exterior rear view mirror housing and a hand flat against the center of the exterior mirror glass. Press the exterior mirror glass in place until it is fully seated.
