What kind of tie down system do you guys use to strap down the skies? Decks look AWESOME but think their a little bit out of my price range.

Thanks for your interest and compliment. We use Superclamps with all of our decks, they are included in the price. Please don't hesitate with any further questions.

Thanks

I'm interested in one of these decks but I don't know if my slip tank and tool will fit under due to the bar that goes leg to leg.

Thanks for your interest.

The decks are height adjustable, I would be more worried about ramp clearance with your slip/tool box. You can email us some dimensions of your setup and we would be more then happy to see if it will fit for you.

Thanks

Deck looks great, just for curiosity's sake why do you biuld the legs running left to right insted of on the sides running inline with the sides of the truck box? quality of your decks look unmached by the way.

Thanks for your interest.

We run the deck cross wise for a couple reasons:

- It spreads the load across the bed of the truck and over the frame rails, where the strength of the box is.
- It ties the left and right side of the legs together creating a structural box (the strongest)
- It allows us to mount our optional ramp off of the legs, or customers can add sliding trays etc...

Hopefully that answers your questions.

Once again thanks for the interest and thank you for the positive feedback.

Thats a good point about your ramps hook/pockets. And as per the overhanging load, its not the point of we knowing there's something back there, its people are stupid and they dont look or watch what their doing. If you park that in a mall parking lot I quarantee someone would walk into it in about 15 mins due to them being on their phones/texting whatever and then bam!. But as the owner of hte truck with that rig in the back, if someone walks into it "YOUR" liable not them. Its the same with a hitch, if you leave it in a drive around and someone bashes their shin on it, your liable. Most times if someone walks into something like that their more embassed and want to get out before someone see it, but if they walk into that extension with those points their going to get injured and they wont walk away from that.

We agree with you in the fact that if someone hits their head on the back of the extension it's going to smart, we have put a radius on the extension, and putting a larger radius isn't going to smart any less. It is no different if they hit their head on the back of any portion of the sled deck, sled decks that hang off the back of the truck are something that we all have to be aware of as owners of sled decks. Hitting the extension is not going to smart anymore then hitting the loading bar or slide out side, it's solid metal on the back of a truck, it's going to smart.

So until someone invents structural nerf for sled decks, hitches, ladders, 2 x 4's, pipe or whatever else we all carry in the back of our trucks it is, as you mentioned (we are liable) our responsibility to ensure we are being intelligent with how and where we park. You aren't going to have to worry about it in the parking/staging area at the bottom of a trail because we are all sledders and are aware of these things. However in the mall parking lot it may mean parking at the back of the parking lot, or backed in against a building/fence/tree's and walking a bit further. Just something we all have to be aware of.

Thanks

Hate to ask this but where can someone get that compostie deck board you use? I've only seen the 6" or 8" wide boards for doing house decks.

Hey Guys/Gals

Due to the great response to our new decks we now only have 20 PRODUCTION SPOTS left for the 2011/12 season. After these 20 spots are sold out that is it for the season. We are currently delivering into the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] week of January with these spots filling up fast. If you want to place an order for a deck simply give us a call or email. A $500 deposit is all that is required to secure your spot in the production line, you pay the balance once the deck is ready to ship. So don't wait if you are thinking of buying a deck.

With that being said we have had various questions about our new design, what's changed, why have you changed certain things, why do you only do a limited production run, etc... so we will try an answer these questions here for all of our potential customers:

Deck frame:

This year our deck frame has been completely changed, we no longer butt weld the cross members together but rather drill through each cross member making the deck an actual structural piece before it is ever welded. Of course our decks are always 100% TIG welded, this ensures proper weld penetration for an extremely strong weld. We have also incorporated a perimeter channel which closes the gap around the deck and the box sides, you can add weather strip to the bottom of this channel and seal your box off completely.

Decking:

We use 3/4” plastic composite decking, this is not a wood core with plastic bonded to it, or a wood with fibre glass over it. This is a 3/4” all plastic composite decking it is anti-slip and wears better then anything on the market and never needs to be changed. The reason we can offer this product while others can't is because we have so many cross members to support the plastic. We do not use our decking as a structural component. Also our decking is no longer held in with screws, we instead use a channel system which captures our decking, like a floating floor.

Deck Legs:

We have made a new custom extrusion that allows our legs to be positioned anywhere along the underside of the deck, we have also gone to a single bar that goes from one side of the deck to the other. With this new leg design the load of the deck and it's cargo is spread over the frame of the truck and not just the 4 corners of the bed. This not only saves the truck box, but also gives you a much more stable platform. With one 2” bar for the front of the legs and one 2” bar for the rear of the legs it allows infinite adjustment without interfering with your wheel wells. Also the mandrel bent tubing curves away from the corner of the truck box, this is important with the new truck boxes curving at the front to allow for filler necks etc... Also as always our legs are height adjustable, this is very important to ensure a proper fit on each truck, many of the trucks boxes are shallower in the front then they are in the rear, with the height adjustment you can set it so your deck sits level to your box sides and looks proper.

Deck slide outs:

We have gone to an all round slide out system allowing us to CNC machine plastic plugs to fit into the end of each slide out tube ensuring that it is plastic to metal contact, not metal to metal, this give the slides a nice smooth pull. Of course we have internal slide out stops so you cannot pull the slide out, out accidentally.

Ramps:

We have our standard 11' telescoping ramp or as an option our dual folding ramp system with slide out tray. This dual folding system allows you to put the ramps together for snowmobiles or pull them apart for over sized vehicles, like UTV's.

Lights:

We have gone too very small LED marker lights and have also added integrated rear turn signals and brake lights for safety. We now have 2 bright white under deck LEDs for the cargo compartment.

Hopefully this sheds some light for our potential customers, you can see by the attached photo's that we have put a lot of time and effort in to designing our decks. Everything was 3d modeled prior to ever cutting a piece of material. We then built several proto types, then blue prints, and jigs and CNC programs to ensure our decks meet the highest possible standards.

So why do we do limited production runs? Well for a couple reasons, if we know how many decks we are going to produce in a season we can order in enough material to make all the machined parts for X amount of decks, this allows us to produce in volume thus lower our manufacturing costs and in turn allowing us to offer our customers free powder coat, or higher end LED lights etc... without raising the cost of the deck. Also by doing a limited production run it maintains a high level of quality in our product. This in turn keeps the value of a Full Lotus deck high and a good investment for our customers.

We appreciate you guys taking the time to read this.

Thanks
