Have run 166 belts since day 1, just needed to replace my 166 that has about 1200km on it, and the Dealer ship said it has been discontinued, and to use the 383????

That is a wider belt that all the XP's have been using and just wondering how it will affect my machine, other than I will need to adjust my deflection.

The 383 belt is made for the rev not the XP, it is wider than the 166 but it is the same lenght.
The 377 XP belt is 4mm shorter, I have been running the 377 on my 06x for the last two seasons with no problems.
Using the 383 shouldn't change anything other than when you put on a new belt you will start out on 1-2 on the secondary and have more room to adjust as things work in!

166 Belt lasts me about 800 miles, the 383 lasted 400 miles and left lots of nasty black crap stuck to my sheaves after every ride. The 383 seems to be made outa softer compounds ????..a guess on my part....I have two rides on my last 166 belt now and all is well. Dino

Enjoy your last 166 belt as BRP has now discontinued them I have been told.

Were there any performance issues with the 383?

The 383 belt does not work well on the revs, rpms all over the place,:nono: overall poor performance from this belt, the 377 belt works on the revs

On my 06X I run a DJ kit with a 377, as my brother runs a XP so it's nice to be able to steal a belt if needed. They are more $. DJ says this is the belt to have so thats why I run it!
