I have a 04 800 summit. I was about to fix the recoil and when I opened the side panel a grease nipple popped on the ground. I'm not to sure where it came from. Any ideas??

Ummm grease nipple? That can't be good. As to where it comes from is even a bigger question. Only grease nipples I have seen are on the suspension.

Either the steering post at the bottom, or the drive axle on the left side to grease the drive axle bearing......... Could be grease zerts on the inner tie-rods on some as well?

If you take your pipe out then reach down there are two short alum. arms used in the steering linkage .one grease nipple per arm.IF you greese them the steering will stay tight longer.I hope this helps you,if you look you will find them,as all of our old iron has them.
