This is my set up. I tie the front with a superclamp.

That's a 163 in the back of a Dakota with a six foot box. Just make sure you have a taillight at night and an orange/red flag in the day.

Anything past 4' has to have a flag. Lights at night to be legal. Most guys don't have any issues. MOST...

Does night light need to be hooked to brake lights?
if not I could use my bike light probably, solid red or will blink

Solid light. Honestly I would worry too much about it. I run with the tailgate down also. But my sled is in a long box.

I have a 174 summit in a 5.5 or 6 ft f150 tailgate down with a red flag on bumper of sled daytime or night and no issues yet in bc.
