Looking for some info on REAL TIME EXPERIENCE! of what is working what isn't. I finally got back on a 2016 summit sp 154x3 it already has new fox float shocks on it other than that bone stock minus the LMS bumpers and cheetah bars. looking for mods that really work definitely not gonna big bore or turbo this one. Seen some info on the D&D fuel mod kits and the trygstad coolant kits not sure if they work or not. What I'm thinking is clutch kit, machine the heads and possibly pipe kit. any info is appreciated

Clutch kit was a huge improvement on my 174" T3. Dynamo Joe Mtn kit is what i went with.. Runs more like a diesel truck now - torque on the bottom comes in a little slower so you don't trench out, shifts quick going up, holds the RPM better and biggest difference was holding gears on a descent - never have to give the sled that big throttle burp, just roll back into it..

All these machines need are clutching. A can of some sort. Some aftermarket risers. Some sort of aftermarket shock. Spacers for the rear springs. And a fuel can on the tunnel. And ride tge sh** out of it.

since this engine is old news now...

powder freaks stat - etech one cause's parasitic load on the engine as it is not a high flow, pressure diffeintial
TSS or SLP pipe kit
20/51 with 104 chain, no tensioner required, ATF filled
MSD plug wires, shorten them as much as you can
NGK iridium plugs.
pull out trumpet intake connector and install a 3" silicone tube. stock is 2"
pinch off or disconnect heated throttle bodies
MTN fit hood for weight and additional heat reduction
clutching obviously
drill out sliders for friction reduction
Dayco XTX or Gates Cabon belt.

all this yields 50-55mph tracks speeds.

Ohh and forgot one other thing, stop by the dealer and have them advance then engine 2 degrees static. Most are set at -0.5 retard. Stock head application only. BUDD's required.

If you are worried about warranty, this may be an issue. I have ridden this sled and ride with it almost everytime out. I can testify that it works very very well.

I wonder what that chain set up would do on my sled. The 51 bottom might make the 174 a trencher. Only one real way to find out. Anyone got a 51 tooth gear kicking around?

13.5-1 can run about 1.0 degree, that's why we run on a 872. You can run more as guys out east run up to 4.0, but I like dependable performance.

is timing better... Imo yes as the computer has a dynamic timing which it can control. Compression is fixed.

get a good cooker can that works with the previous suggestions and subscribe to ferniesnows youtube Chanel or have Joel give ya his deer sausage recipe. Rear suspension setup for you size and riding style is very important two.....have fun

I had the cooker on lots of sleds I honestly don't get much time with the boys I ride with to stop for lunch let alone stop stop put food in cooker then stop again haha. Definitely on the suspension ive got fox floats and all suspension dialed in. I've got a bmp Y-pipe from my last etec and a jaws race can

Some good knowledge there. I'm thinking of doing most of this to my 15 T3 163. Will that chain gear combo work on the t3 chain case?
