Just for the forever internet memory. 1991 indy 500 SKS liquid 141. removed the stock track which the previous owner installed 1 1/4 plastic paddels on. ( no good for the son when icey). Installed a 144 ripsaw 1 1/4 inch track as a direct replacement. no set back required , no larger rear wheels required. no other changes. looking at he final result I believe a 1 1/2 inch is possible with very little room at the lower (front cooler area) but would fit as a max. There is approx 1/2 inch more adjustment in the rear boogy slots for track stretch with this 144 on. Oh and I could not belive the weight differance between the Plastic paddeled up stock track and the new ripsaw.. did not weigh but there was 8-10 pounds differece in there. Guess that would be about right when you add over 100 nuts and bolts to attach those old paddles.
