02 mountain cat issues

My friend has an 02 mountain cat 800. He went to start the other day and when it fires it rev's right out. Thank good he had the brake on or it would still be going. So he took belt off and we started it a gain today and it rev'd right out again he had to hit kill switch to stop motor from going boom. If anyone has had this issue or know what might be causing this any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.:d

I had the same thing happen on my 02 800 and it ended up being a snag down by the throttle bodies. Check the condition of the throttle cable aswell it could be wore out and sticky. I had to adjust the nut where the cable attaches to the throttle bodies to fix mine and I never had a problem after that.
