ArcticInsider - Feb. '11 Trip to Arctic Cat
Cataract Creek
Rode 120 clicks yesterday.....as the trails report warns things are pretty thin at the lowest elevations..particularly the trails leaving the staging areas with the most traffic.....it was still much better than I would have imagined though
South trails....lost creek...
Anyone see it....right on the trail...raspberry pass...burnt right to the ground
looked like a polaris...4 stroke turbo.....???
wow !!!
I will post video of it tommorow.....I did a bit of a walk around
edit
I spoke with the ranger right away...although he seemed relatively unconcerned...
Went out to mclean creek on saturday....did about 100kms...snow was good in some places.....but lacking a quite a bit on the rocky climbs
the shared road was great and had plenty of snow.....made it to the river.....but couldnt find the way to powderface....and maybe not enough snow for that...
They finally revised this link.....also temp warnings for rest of week in the -20C range.....keep in mind this report was before todays snow blizzard.....with the cold temp expected to carry on for the next week at least..this stuff is going to stick around for awhile
notice lost creek haul...
I found this...and these cams are pretty much up to the minute...
gives you an Idea what to to expect for road travel and general conditions.....
