Anyone see it....right on the trail...raspberry pass...burnt right to the ground

looked like a polaris...4 stroke turbo.....???

wow !!!

I will post video of it tommorow.....I did a bit of a walk around

edit

I spoke with the ranger right away...although he seemed relatively unconcerned... he was pretty keen on making sure everyone had plates and registration ins......the parks have been notified...however

I also dont think any VIN would be recognizable.....even the cam covers are melted off

Didn't see that one as we were over on Pasque and Oyster. Also went south on the road ( approx 15kms) to Coleman and found a chopper pad and a Falls. We did see an older Cat on the way up Pasque that had 2 helmets on it and tracks going over the steep hill but nobody was around.

good point.
Good point X2 and I hope they you mean the guy who owns it looks after getting it down or gets the inevitable visit from LE. I used to help look after trails near RMH and nothing was worse than seeing and getting out destroyed equipment.

I agree have it removed so trails are safe it it snows more.
Also not good to leave a mess behind or quad riders get blamed.

It's up to the owner to get the wreck out of there, take in a sleigh and drag the carcass out or be visited by the game wardens with ticket book in hand when they run the VIN and find out who owns it. Worse if they have to clean it up !
The sled burned but the VIN will be intact and traceable. It's an Environmental hazzard, and dangerous to other riders and the animals who live there !

Just a word of advice to all you sled heads from the safety guy. Everyone should consider carrying a fire extinguisher with them. A small 2 lb extinguisher can be carried in your backpack or can be strapped to your sled. You have a fighting chance with one. Without one you can kiss your sled good by. No amount of snow will help put it out and the fire makes your hot dogs taste like crap.:nono:

You can bet the park wardens already got the VIN and that it's being ran in order to find the registered owner? Those guys are all over the trails now and are checking registrations and policing the park trails heavily on each weekend now that there's a lot of activity in the area.

Hope the owner gets it out before he gets the fine cause it's a heavy one if he hasn't already communicated extraction plans with the parks department.

As for the suggestion on carrying an extinguisher, no thanks. For one I don't have the room, and secondly, if my sleds catches fire the insurance company will be buying me a new one. :)

Brutal! Poor bastage!

Can't imagine watching your ride go up in flames! I've had a fire once and was lucky enough I spotted it and got the hood open before it was too big. If your not quick it becomes a write off really fast!
