Trigger Pull for a 7 MM Rem Mag

I followed the advice on this site to go to CanadianGunNutz site for some help (thanks sirkdev). It was great info on my issue and it gave me an article on how to adjust my factory trigger pull and over-travel. I have he trigger set at about 4.5 lbs. I like the idea that trigger pull should be...

    Smoker talk

Several years ago my dad converted a old time ice box type fridge ( ice block on the bottom with a separate smaller door on the bottom ) and just added a single burner hot plate. The chrome grates and steel porcelin or enamel ( I think ) internal walls worked well. You could open the door and...

Trigger Pull for a 7 MM Rem Mag

I have a Savage 110 7MM Rem Mag that does not have an AccuTrigger. When My friends and I were doing some shooting - They mentioned that the trigger is a bit tough ( lots of pull weight ) and I agree. It feels like squeezing a hand operated construction stapler ( maybe I m getting weak) . I am...

Looking to get bumpers sprayed..need recommendations

I asked an Auto body shop to paint my bumpers when my truck was going into the paint booth for hail repair - they wanted another $1800. Replacement chrome bumpers were about $800. One guy suggest that I do it myself and prep sand and paint the bumpers myself and apply PlasticDip clear . I am...

    Transmission Gasket problem

Thanks for the feed back. The pan gasket surface was distorted as well due to the crap gasket and appling the correct torque. In hind sight the torque from the book is for the factory gasket and not the nitrile rubber gasket. I did have to flip over the pan and pound out the bolt holes until...

I had my transmission serviced ( along wioth some other mechanical work ) at a local shop near work and found out they sub out the tranny flush to a Jiffy Lube acrosss the parking lot. I was not concerned at that point since I realize that...

    Hunting Draws

Has anyone sucessfully challenged a draw result ( not been drawen ) ? I thought for sure I would get my Bull Moose draw ( late season ) in WMU 346 on a priority 3. The draw priority must have changed with SR ( it was a sure thing for years ). Sadly Zar

    Winch cable vs synthetic rope

I changed mine to a Hawse fairlead. I have used the syn rope from Warn for 2 years and I have had line failures due to fraying ( from my plow use ). I change out the winch line every season to a warn red plow line and back again in the sping. It is easy t to fix a Syn rope when it does break...

    Toyo AT 2 tires

I also have a set of Open Country Toyo for 45000 Km lots of wear still left - should be good for about 80000 Km (I estimate) . Very good cold weather- ice tire for a 10 ply E load tire. Open Country tires do not have large lugs for off roading but work very well on all weather roads. Good luck

    Ski / Steering alignment.

No splines on the spindle ( welded solid to the arm on top[ ). Check if the a arms are bent - If the A arms are good ( not bent ) then it might be cheaper to grind or torch off the arm off the spindle and re weld ( re paint )

Yes i agree . After a only 30 rounds my scope that came with the gun had very loose ring screws. I didn't notice that the scope had moved but it would have been a problem eventually.

Rifle Scope - Which is the best value for the $$$$

I have done this twice. In both cases the binoculars fogged up on the inside ( seal failure ). I sent the gear to Bushnell and they repalced the entire binocular. The binoculars were at least 5 years old in both cases

Rifle Scope - Which is the best value for the $$$$

Well I did it -I bought a Zeiss Conquest 3X9 40 MC from Bass Pro. I compared the Bushnell Elite , Leupold VX l, Leupold Rifleman. The actual Leupold I wanted to compare was the VX ll but they had no stock left. Zeiss was the most expensive but it was the easiest for finding the target in the eye...
