Used the full ski-doo setup on mine. Mount kit, straps and all. Works awesome and the shape of the can makes it look less out of place than some of those big bulky square ones.
However there is a ski-doo logo molded into the tank! It's small and hardly noticeable but I feel like it makes for at...
Took the bolt completely out of mine. 700 miles last year with several roll overs and no issues....yeah if you yard sale it hard or cartwheel it, the seat may pop off, but at that point you got more issues than picking your seat up out of the snow
By looking at the specs...I still don't believe it has anything on the XP. Sure it will probably win a drag race. That's it. Rock crawling, high speed trails, jumping, my prediction is the XP will still dominate. Their 4 wheel drive is still seriously lacking compared to ANY other brand.
That's true! I was just stating that BRP believes they can be compared to a Rzr-S or an Xp..look at their promo videos..maxwell believes it is apples/oranges.
So then why was Can-Am always comparing their awesome new Commander to both the Rzr 800 and the XP in all their promo videos? Seems like they believe it is apples/apples! Although it just makes them look silly!
If they were never ment to compete with the sport machines, then why wasn't BRP doing...
Sure hope it doesn't handle like a
Commander. They have the HP down...but everything else pretty much sucks. IMHO you could say a
Commander is like a 1 ton power stroke and a XP is like a ford raptor. Sure the stroke has way more power....which one is faster in the dirt? Which one is funner to...
So as stated the bike is an 05'... Hours unknown but looks in decent shape. $1,500USD. Which is about half price of what they are normally going for. Why? Because the chain balled up and broke the case. It has been jb welded or epoxy patched and the owner has said he has rode it for two years...
Just look for one on the big island or maui IMO....Ohau and honolulu are just to big and busy for me....just seems like any other city with a beach. The other lslands get you off the beaten path more for things like touring Volcanos, Rain forest, secluded beaches, snorkeling etc. More of the...
How about trusting that your sled will hold up 40 miles from the truck on its first ride out after a major rebuild/repair. Sled reliability is ALWAYS on my mind. Not sure why, as I have only been pulled out twice in twelve years....just cant stop listening to all the little sounds/vibrations...
Posted this in the other Avy thread, but good for everyone to look at all of these reports this year. Hope people can learn some things from these.
http://avalanche.org/accidents.php
the report for 2/13/12 shows a snowboarder caught and killed. With a deployed airbag AND avalung! Just goes to...
12 in the states...4 on a snowmobile. 1 is still to many!
Here are all the reports that will open your eyes for sure!

Still going to be a lot less movement then a convention clutch set-up with no TCL in my opinion. I do see what you are saying about the flex with the movement in the bearings...but that is still pretty minimal compared to a sled that has no connection between clutches.
Yeah I have been through that entire thread on snowest......still not convinced its the Torque Control Link. The center to center distance can not change. Front end is bolted to engine case and rear is solid mounted to jackshaft. The rubber bushing is between the TCL and frame....which will...
So just a question for all you that had the 08 XP......Basically it was a belt issue? Traded to the 377 and all problems went away? I had an 09 with the 377 and it was still a belt eater....not near as bad as my new PC but about 1 every 300 miles.
Anyway I guess I am just holding out hope that...
I wish mine lasted 600 Miles! I was on belt number 4 at about 250 miles! Jackshaft nut tightened, clutches aligned with cat bar, helix ground for full shift, and lower gearing installed. STILL having issues. Bought some vents to install this weekend. I know that is a bandaid but hope it helps...
