After reading some threads on this site I decided it was time to check a few things out on my '04 800 summit. I removed the exhaust and Y-pipe as well as the carbs and reeds and took a few pics. I heard this was a bad year for pistons and rings and was wondering if I should replace them since...
I Don't mean to side track this one but I have an '04 Rev 800 as well with about 2000KM's, wondering if it's time for a piston changeout? If so, should I go with OEM's or aftermarket dual ring RTK's? Sounds like I should look at a new set of reeds as well.
Mine had the HAC but still ran too rich in the hills. I found that it didn't compensate enough. You can re-jet in about 10 minutes after you do it once or twice.
Hey, new to the site.
I was running my 670 last year with a 144 track and Jaws pipes. It did pretty good but I had to jet down when going to the hills. I think I ended up running # 370's in both carbs.
Sold it last year and bought a Rev.
