Barry, would you be able to put a little synopsis on here as to what happened in this incident? Like where is Drop of Doom (Weinberger???), too much snow to get out, snow cave, things they wished they would have had (spot, candles...)? Always curious about these situations and what we should be...
We just got home from 3 days in Renshaw. Apart from being damn cold for the first two days it was great!!! Snow was awesome (18+" in the trees), trail is perfect until you hit km 28, and minimal damage :). Two of the group made it back to Spirit Lake on Monday, and we had 3 full days of...
Yes the bog was there, especially when feathering the throttle a bit and then pinning it. There was a hestitation there, especially when climbing in deep snow. I do have to keep knocking snow off the intake vent on a regular basis.
Much happier with this machine on the second trip than the...
My XP 146X went thru 3 belts within 350 kms. Two belts in heavy snow in McBride before Xmas and one more on the lake during the holidays. Dealer warranted two of them (I threw the first one in the garbage out of ignorance ). At the 10 hr check they regeared to 19 T and added some weight to...
Twin Turbo - nice to meet you on the Renshaw trail there on 23rd. That's my buddy Mike stuck in the tree well, we should have left him there a while longer - more powder for the rest of us:).
Also Barry BBtoys - the new floor is much appreciated and hope you enjoy the Disaronno. Nice to meet...
Engineer by trade and now I have a business supplying castings and forgings to the mining / oil and gas industries. Never enough time to go sledding, too much working.
Looking forward to McBride weekend before Xmas.
Culvert,
We were the three stooges on Summits. I'm the short guy with the bright orange coat. My brother and buddy were looking for the Klim gear and would be interested in any contacts you have.
I don't know what a PM is so can't do that yet :) . I think there will be good sledding thru to...
Hi Culvert.
We were the Edmonton group of three on the same radio channel on Monday. That was one of the best riding days we ever had - yes 2 feet new is not off the mark. My brother and I both ran out of gas within 5 minutes of one another, and that was at 3:00. Had to send our third guy back...
Four of us up in the Renshaw today. Trail up was smooth like a billiard table - finished to the cabin! No new snow and most of the mountain is set up pretty stiff - windblown. A few pockets of untracked stuff.
Weather was on / off cloudy sunny and -3 C. Flat light and very windy in the afternoon.
I've had the pleasure of doing some heli skiing, cat skiing, and patrolled for a few years at Marmot. Ski pretty good and have been sledding for several years now too.
Sledding is hands down the more physically draining sport, especially when the snow gets deep and you get stuck on a couple of...
