Re: Shelter bay / gelena bay ferry
I was coming back from Vancouver island a few years ago with 8 jerry can, 6 were empty. They made me fill the empty can with water and I had to put the fuel from the can in the boat. Then fill the other two with water as well. We go up north island and fuel is...
I have been thinking about using my truck camper. Early season and late season would work best, not as cold. Needs to be about -15 before the water lines freeze. Has a furnace, fridge, and most importantly, a toilet. I figure a hunt with it until mid December, start sledding November long... On...
look for a beacon that is updatable via USB port, I just picked up Ortovox 3+, easy to use. My tracker one wore out, when testing the range, I was down to 30m, most new ones are around 60m from what I observed at ast1. The instructor mentioned the older beacons have less pulses per minute versus...
Some of the early released 15 pro's have a fuel pump recall. Mine didn't, but my buddies did. Check with your dealer. Can't remember exactly what it's about, something about the fuel pump and air in the system.
Would the town of Kimberley be able to get it closed? Would it be easy for them or more trouble then its worth? Just curious... I have heard of ther water shed being closed to prevent contamination in the drinking water.
Anyone ever try the solo stove? small and light, burns twigs/branches. It has an alcohol burning insert and a pot everything fits in. Think I may buy one to try and add to my pack. Any thoughts???
Rode about 60cm fresh yesterday, -21C was the high. Dressed warm. Didn't notice the cold until the end of the day when the sun went behind the mountain... froze my a$$ off riding the 10 miles out. We played all the way back and no long fast stretches, then figured we'd fly down the trail to get...
You can get insurance in BC without registering it. I just renewed my insurance for the second year in a row. It is not registered. When it was new, I went to ICBC and asked them the requirement to insure a sled in BC, told me they could do did as long as I had the sled and the VIN number...
I haven't registered the sled here in BC, always carry proof of insurance and a copy of the original receipt in my backpack. Wont register till I get stopped or forced too.

Are they all dead now?
Was at a caribou closure meeting Monday night. Only 2 left... sounds like they are going to try it again too with some changes...
A friends of mines 2011 was done and a friend of mines got a 2012 and he mentioned that his sled may be a candidate depending on the serial number range of the sleds. He just found out from his dealer a week ago, I'll get the info from him and post. Not bashing the etech, its a great motor. I...
I did hear that skidoo has a recall on some 2012 etech pistons just like the 2011s. How come no one ever mentions that? Always poo bashing! Just ride whether its a poo, doo, cat or yam. :jerry:
Thanks E-Zmoke, I figured as much. I booked it way back in July. I figured there was some forgiveness if the snow was lacking. Heading out friday morning. A bad day sledding is still better then any day at work!
