I am a Power Engineer working in the Natural Gas industry.

Is anyone headed out to Cataract this weekend who knows how to get to the pass and wouldn't mind a tag along. I'm looking to go for a casual day ride and to do some exploring. I've rode the trails there but never dropped into the BC side.

I haven't been to Forester yet this year but would like to go check it out, anyone maybe up for a day trip on Saturday or Sunday? Let me know.

I was there twice last year and both times the trails were some of the best I have ridden. A nice smooth ride in and out. I think its about 20-25 kms from the staging area but is a nice little ride, good scenery and good trails.

In the meadows at forester there isn't much of of an avy risk, lots of meadows and creeeks. If you go up to the lakes you get into more avalanche danger but there is generally alot more snow up on the lakes and better riding.

I've never heard of it being a problem. just run your oil level down fairly low before you fill it with the new stuff so you don't have to much of a mixture but I have added different oils together and never had a problem.

I have never snowmobiled out there but have quaded, there might be enough snow out there with these recent dumps but can't promise anything. It would be a good area though if it ever got enough snow, lots of meadows and foothills to play on. If you do go out there make sure to let us know how...

Grew up just east of Regina in Wolseley but have been migrated to Alberta for 10 years or so now.

The 600 sdi is a bulletproof engine, guys have put alot of miles on this engine with no problems, They make alright power, depends what you want it to do but they are a good all around sled. Not gonna get the highmark with it but it will be a fun and light sled that will get you home every night.
