its not even an error i just canceled my service in february and they are holding my deposits and telling me it usually takes 4-8 weeks to go thru there system. looks like it is going to be 8-14 weeks in my case. there just deposits how hard can it be to fill out a check. lol just venting and seeing if this is the normal way they do buisness. also to see if any found away to get things done faster with them. its not like i owe them money my account is payed in full.:rant::realmad:

Somewhat on the same topic...

I'm a first time home buyer moving into my place later this year, and was today looking around at Electricity/Natural Gas retailers. Who do you guys recommend I go with in Edmonton? Sounds like Direct Energy is off the list...Then again, I don't know what my options are for Natural Gas.

Locked in through enmax? as in their 8 cent/Kwh Easymax? Cause regulated rates are at about 5.46 cents per KwH this month. Wouldn't it be smarter to switch to a floating rate for electricity while it's this low? Or are you locked in on a lower rate I am not aware of?

you have to be a gambler when you lock in energy rates, with direct it's like going to vegas, you are going to lose.

I have no choice but to use direct energy where i live and the admin charges are always higher than the gas and electricity used. They are scamming arsholes.

I have heard nothing but bad stories about direct energy. I'm glad I didn't sign up when they came knocking at my door (many times). The last canvaser at my door said I have to sign up!
I said I don't have to sign anything.

I was locked at 0.08 through 08 and 09 when the floating rates were much higher....haven't checked for the past couple of months, but did today thanks to you....I changed my account to the floating rate. (also very easy to to on the Enmax plan...couple of mouse clicks, no penalties)

Glad to hear it! You can pay me back by spending the savings on a case of Canadian next time you're at the liquor store! :p:beer:
