Just letting everyone know there is a zero day vulnerability attack underway on the Internet. The threat level has been raised to Critical. Please ensure that your computers are up to date (patched) and if you are using IE make sure you have IE 7 or 8 installed. These versions will enable "data execution prevention" by default. If you have enabled it please turn it back on. Also, make sure your AV signatures are up to date. Thiss is not a hoax. Have a good weekend...

The attack was discovered on the 12th (as far as I can tell). MS "Patch Tuesday". I wonder how long it will take MS to release a fix?

Buy a MAC and never worry.
The amount I spent in the last 10 years on Virus protection, time to find drivers, etc. would have paid off my macbook, and then some.:beer::cool:

It seems like the Chinese government may have been the originators of the attack. Google may have pissed off the "Great Firewall of China" by allowing some restricted content viewable to the Chinese people. Some of the attacks on Google were directed at some human activists Gmail accounts. See the links below:

MS released a patch to address this vulnerability late this week. To install run the automatic updates and ensure all "critical updates" are installed. Have a good weekend!

MAC is great - wife bought a MAC for her photo stuff at home, problem is now that I disconnected the old compy, no more Excel or Word/PP so now I can't work from home. Yes you can buy the software but its not the same and its just more $$$. I love the MAC for editing vids and photos though, miles ahead.
