It seems im getting away from the fords and getting more gm products. I am needing to check balance rates and do other bcm checks and what not. Is it worth while getting the 400buck tech2 or if there is something better for less? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well as far as I know, the aftermarket scanners don't do some special functions, and don't show some data right either

Where a tech 2" you know its right

Having said that it's 2013 and older which is less and less use

I know its for older vehicles. When checking around guys have said as long as you use a real gm card in it it works the same. They say even some techs use them instead of the vertec when starting out.. I am hearing conflicting opinions, thats why im asking around.

I like the Autoenginuity software, runs on a laptop and you can do add whatever brand you want.

I've got a lot done with the blue one from crappy tire for $60 on sale,it just scans main codes and deletes them but can't do anything in depth.

Ya i have a couple of the cheap ones also. Wifes cadillac srx is doing stupid things like service traction control and the cluster is dropping out and other electrical glitches. Need a gm tester to do bcm tests. Also I want to check the balance rates on my duramax and do a cluster test and config since i changed out the stepper motors.
