My experience with the Tesla Model 3

I paid cash for the system so not paying interest. Show me a bank that pays 5% interest and I'll jump right on that, stocks sure but that's never guaranteed.

Panels and inverters both have 25 year warranties on them. Everything else is standard electrical components that should easily last 25 years.

It was a joke actually.
But very few hotels have a charger.
Parks do???
And movie theaters around here surely do NOT.
Charging stations are not just everywhere.
It would be different if they were.
If every business, park, etc had chargers, ev would be a lot more viable.

Been down in SoCal for the last couple weeks. Lots of Teslas everywhere. Have chatted with a few owners and they all love them. Spoke to a gentlemen in his 70's today. He listed off all of the vehicles he has owned including Cadillac. Mercedes, BMW etc. Said his Model 3 made them all look ridiculous. He always charges at home and where he used to average about $250/month for gas, he is now about $50 for electricity. These cars may not be perfect for remote areas but for any metro situation, they work well and are loved. Just sayin

I agree totally, for people who never go far from home an electric vehicle is the perfect choice. Sadly though for people who drive long distances regularly, they are a terrible idea.

I bit the bullet and got the Chademo Adapter. So before on my trips to Revelstoke I only had access to 5 superchargers along the way (Fort Macleod, cross iron mills, strathmore, canmore, and golden). Some of these have small detours so I usually try to just charge to 100% and shoot for a direct trip to canmore. Here is a picture of the DC fast chargers (excluding Tesla superchargers). Should open up a lot of driving routes that I was unable to do in the past. Important to note that this "DC fast charging" is only 50kw so quite a bit slower than superchargers but still just fine for highway travel.

It allows you to use a charger with a Chademo connector. Chademo is the plug type that is used on Nissan Leaf.

If a business like a hotel was interested in putting in a charger to satisfy requested from their customers, what charger?

Tesla can use superchargers and J1772.
They can use Chademo with an adapter.

All other brands use j1772 (slow), CCS(fast), or chademo (fast). Other brands can use Tesla slow chargers with an adapter but can not use superchargers (even with the adapter).

Most or all FastDc chargers that are non-Tesla are CCS or chademo.

So basically if you have a Tesla w/ the Chademo adapter you can charge almost anywhere.

Sounds like a lot of hassle. My pos F150 can receive gasoline from any retailer that sells it.

For a hotel you probably would use j1772 or the Tesla high power wall connector. These are an over night charge which is perfect for a hotel. This link has some more info as I believe that they may supply the equipment for free and hotel pays the installation/power. I could be wrong.

That's charging at 44kw, way less than the tesla superchargers but that would be 183 amps on a standard 240 volt connection, that would be too much for even a 200 amp household service.
