Lots of roads closed in BC and they have been closed for a while. PG has taken in a lot of people so far 3000-4000. Lots of cities effected with the fires so far. Not sure how much news is being reported about this. Just up dated 5000 evacuees in PG

it has been crazy smoky in the Okanagan but we can finally see blue sky. On another note, pls pls when you come out to BC for camping obey the no camp fire ban. My daughter went to Noisy Creek (Mable Lake area) and there were 6 individual campers from AB with camp fires. My daughter mentioned to one camper there was a ban and he told her to mind her own business. Also, I see on FB friends posting pictures of people throwing cigarettes butts out the window of their cars and these idiots are locals. Cant fix stupid!

I think there is a phone number that people can call to report the idiots that have a camp fire going.

yes there is but unfortunately there is no cell service out there but when she got into Enderby she made the call and they were going to send someone up there before it was too late.

I am going to make sure my vehicals are super clean before I go on the highways these days, my trailer tends to pick up small stones and pebbles.

It's definitely bad in some areas but I do think many of the restrictions and closers in place are to keep everyone else safe and reduce the risk of allowing more idiots free in the bush

Yes they are being cautious so they don't add any more load to our firefighters, police, etc. They even have a campfire ban up here in the Northeast of the province and there's guys that can't get onto their fields to cut hay because it's too wet.

Anyone that would do that needs to charged criminally and held responsible for some of the fire fighting costs.

Hopefully someone forwards those pics to the RCMP

Heard lots of looting going on too, that's a special kind of scumbag

The number of evacuees in Prince George has climbed to well over 6000.

Props to the folks in PG and many other areas for showing support. If any evacuated folks need a place to go especially with animals we have room for a couple horses and can support campers. Also a huge props to the folks that came from ft Mac to show their support, you people truly know what others are going though

There was a close call outside Radium this week. tourists At a rest stop let their bbq fall over and it Lit up the area quickly, luckily fire crew was quick to respond.

Also watched 2 young tourists lighting a charcoal bbq at the lake last night..... a little to much liquid starter and flames were 2'high.

In Alberta during a fire ban charcoal BBQs also get banned.

I remember a couple years ago we went to radium from peach land and going down whatever highway number it is from Golden to radium there was a fire right at the side of the highway started by a car fire. I'd never been so close to an actual wildfire.

There are over 7000 "registered" evacuees in PG this morning. I might want to add there are 16 in our subdivision that are not registered and a friend a know of as 2 unregistered so there could be over 10000 in PG.
