Heres one for you and Im even stumped. Buddys sled a 1996 ZRT 600. Has compession, spark.and fuel. Reeds are good but cylinder wont fire. Any ideas? And the cylinder that wont fire has the highest compression of the 3.

change the spark plug cap. as stupid as it sounds that's the cheapest place to start. had the same issue with an older sled. spent big bucks on coils . ECU stator and turns out it would have been a $7.00 fix, if I would have started there.

Nope but the bowl is full. Took it apart cleaned it and still the same.

So no fuel is entering that cylinder at an idle, does it start to fire if you run it up? Pilot jet plugged? Air/fuel screw adj? Which cylinder is not firing? Carb boot on that cylinder cracked?

No fuel enters the cylinder at any rpm. No jets are plugged. It is the middle cylinder.

how about switching the carb with an outside cylinder and see if the problem follows the carb or stays with the cylinder

if outside carb won;t work in center cylinder..center reeds look good but stuck...plugged/collapsed pipe(triples.?)..restricted airflow to center carb from airbox..although its likely the air box is off during all your work...center cylinder crank seal issues..??...tomorrow will tell the tale...good luck..

Will put my money on crank case seal. No primary compression creating low pressure in crank case will cause no fuel to be brought into cylinder.

You said the plug is dry. You said you cleaned the carb. here is what i would do. better yet and easier is to take a spray bottle and put gas in it. When the engine is running shoot some gas into the cyl that is not running. if engine picks up and runs. That means you never cleaned the carb properly and that it is still plugged somewhere. Second thing to look for is if the engine reacts to the gas as i have described above and you are 110% sure that you cleaned the carb properly the next thing you do is spary the gas bottle around the carb boot and again listen to the engine if it picks up and starts to run on that cyl you have a air leak.

hope this helps

Will it fire if you put a bit of gas in the spark plug hole if it doesnt could be a crank seal or phase problem . Is there a prize.
