Trudeau spending billions to create jobs...giving the illusion that these are real jobs. When the gravy train quits running paying it back is a bich.

Our dollar wasn't doing better so much as the US dollar was doing worse. The great recession hit the US harder than in Canada because we had stricter banking laws that didn't precipitate into a housing meltdown. Also Canada is a petro dollar and the recessions impact on oil prices was short lived ($100 in 2008, $62 in 2009 and back up to $80 in 2010) so our currency wasn't hit as hard either.

Some of these measures have nothing to do with the leader for example we all know Trudeau is a spendthrift idiot but current unemployment in Canada is lower under Shiny Pony (5.5%) than it was under Harper in 2009 (7%). Because the world economy is in better shape.

Be interesting to see the actual breakdown of Trudeau created jobs that are private sector versus governmental, provincial or federal.

I would also like to know how many are decent paying jobs particularly in the private sector. My bet is most of the new employment is low wage service industry and not something that can support a family.

Brandon, based on my own experience, we finally hired a bookkeeper/admin person after looking for a full year. In total maybe received 12 resumes and we were offering a starting wage at $23/hr. Seems to me know one wants to work or wants $40/hr as a starting wage.

They quote numbers but never break Out the details.....several thousand government jobs created in Ontario does nobody in the rest of the country any good.

Spending billions of dollars in infrastructure, mainly in ontario and quebec of coarse. Creates lots of temporary jobs, none of which are sustainable. Spending the next generations money in order to make you look good. .... UNETHICAL.

Seems to be the problem with majority of the kids coming out of school these days. All want to be making 6 figures but don't want to put the effort to get the experience or hours needed to achieve those goals. Just expect it straight out of school, its even worse trying to find anyone for labour intensive jobs.

Interesting to watch the disgruntled commies, and whatever the hell Pelosi's had stuck in her teeth for months, somebody get her some dental floss.

I was wondering the same thing. I found it horrifying the issues Trump brought up that only received a scowl from OAC and the rest of the Dems. They really are a band of outlaws.

Just curious. Did you never watch a SOTU address when Obama was in? The democrats are polite by comparison.
