Hi Folks

Well Folks should we try and do this for another season.
Oh Ya.

Well I’m getting a little older and and the snow on top is thinner but
here we go again.

The Groomer is ready to go for another season, and I must have fallen and banged
my head because I’m the owner of a 800 Summit, the Apex it’s far away but I thought the Skidoo being lighter might make riding a bit easier for my old bones, hope so anyways.

The county is is crushing across from the Narrows so that trail area will not be available until the first week in January, if you go that direction be very cautious do to the heavy truck traffic in the area.
There is also a chance that gravel extraction could start on the south end near the grazing reserve. Shouldn’t be this year but since gravel is gold and it is there the area across the lake from the Main beach will be turned into a pit.😩

There is a Cattle lease north of the lake that has not been used for many years,
the lease is held by Mr. Sodegren and I was speaking with him a couple of weeks ago. He plans on rebuilding the fences over the winter so be prepared for new fences, keep your head up when riding in that area. The cows will be put in the pasture in June so the quaders please respect the area and put the gates up when you go through.

There is quite a bit of blow down in our ridding area so it would be handy to carry a saw, I will do my best to clear the big stuff when I start dragging the trails.

Hunting season starts this week so if your out and about don’t wear a brown jacket with antlers attached to your back. 😉

So we can hope for another great season.
See you on the trail
Don 😎

Hi Folks
Well are you getting excited yet?
we picked up 4 inches yesterday.
Good start to the season.
There’s no frost so it’s pretty muddy under the snow.
If you’ve got a new ride and need to put a couple of kms on it you
ride around here on the grass.
Im ready
See you on the trails
Don 😎

My yearly BS weather prediction has not been made up yet.
I haven’t looked at enough nuts. And right now I can’t find enough nuts
so I’m putting it off until I can find my nuts.

See ee you on the trail
Don

Well folks
we are right on schedule, the Narrows has tightened up, and
the big end will freeze over by Friday.
Went for a little burn on the sled today. Very nice.
See you on the trail
Don 😎

About 10 miles from my farm.
Know this area even better than Spirit Lake.

Lots of riding area out there that never gets touched.
Your turbo a bit much for the hills out there.

That is a great area, we used too get out there 2 or 3 times a year , park at the gas station at the entrance too long lake and follow the cut line down through the cabins and across the lake we go and the area is huge with some power lines. Not sure if you can still park at the gas station but you could also park at the boat launch .

There is a staging area just off the highway on the new road down to the cabins.
Not a problem at their gas station.
They will like the extra winter business.
If you know the trails pretty much go to Smokey Lake or Lac Labiche.

The road to cabins is only one mile past the store at Long Lake.
Don's grooming is the best.

The county has done a pretty good job in the last few years on keeping the staging area plowed in the winter. It's only about 1-2 kms east of hwy 831 on the access road to the cabins a couple miles north of the main Long Lake turn off. There has not been too much room at the gas station as they don't clean lots of their yard in the winter.

Hi Folks
ice test yesterday showed 4 inches so far.
Didnt see anyone fishing yet. But I think most guys need at least 6 inches to
drive their super duty on the ice. (Kidding)

Heads up. There will be new fencing on the trails north of the Lake this year. Pay Attention please.

The county has started crushing at their pit across from the Narrows. The truck traffic usually starts around Christmas.

Now I’m not sure if I’ll get booted off the Site for bringing this up but, if you go to my FB page Snowmobiling at Long Lake you will see a pile of pics and video of the area.

see you on the trail
Don
