That's great guys, so now answer this. Why would one go with a big bore over a low boost set up. Are they more reliable on the doos or what. Thx

I have about 700km's of trouble free riding on the 950. The 950 produces just as much horse power if not more then a low boost turbo but I don't have the extra weight. Plus no turbo leg and the power is there all the time. I have never ran a boosted sled but in my mind this is the way to go.

I also like not having the extra weight added from turbo, less maintenance with the big bore - Turbos are cool but they come with an extra set of maintenance items and things to check. I don't have fuel controller or air fuel gauge to keep an eye on and adjust. Its literally pull and go, I know people always say that when it comes to mod sleds but this is truly start and go.

I believe the 875 is the equivalent to a low boost altitude compensating kit but does not add the extra weight a turbo does. 875 will produce 25hp extra.

The 950 will put you right at the 200Hp mark.

But your best to call Dean at the shop and talk him about all the details.

I never took the sled in for the Big Bore install until the end of February. First trip out was Feb 25 and the snow was hard and wind blown in Allen Creek. I was doing 110 km/h up hill climb and it was still increasing in speed and pulling hard. I ran out of hill.

In the wet heavy snow we had this last weekend in Vale I was seeing 72-78km/h. I would expect it to be higher when the snow is dryer and lighter.

I haven't had much seat time on it, but the time I have had has blown me away. The sled alway has the 11L fuel can on it, tunnel bag with various items in it. Seat bag with some tools and ropes, and my Avy bag with all the needed survival supplies. Sled has electric start and I'm also not a little guy. So I'm not sure how much weight would play into the factor of track speed, but thought I would let you know what I am seeing so far for results and how the sled is equipped.

The 875 is running 91 premium pump fuel, and the 950 is running AV gas 104. Both motors come in pump gas and race gas options.

Its been my experience over the years that when dealing with any kind of mod sled that if your periodically playing at home or down low, say in the valley bottoms, throw in a blend of premium and some AV gas or race fuel, have always viewed it as preventative medicine. If you find yourself in odd conditions and your pushing your beast hard for some reason, it literally takes seconds to turn your 5000 investment into rubble. Get a bad fill up of pump gas, detonation is not your friend, that's been my practice anyway.

What was the total cost of the 875 ? And like wise what was total cost of the 950 ? Has eather kit the 875 or 950 been ridden with or compaired to a gen4 850? Peek hp is great for climbing but mid range is what makes a sled fun and work good in the trees. I have a xm that is eather getting a bb or turbo this summer. I usually go with the turbo because although people think that you have "turbo lag" a cvt is simular to a high stall convertor. My turbo sleds have allways have way better throttle response in the trees then stock by quite a bit actually just above clutch engaugemet your into boost.

Honestly your best to call Dean at the shop for pricing. My bill wasn't broken out to just labor for the motor. I had some maintenance done and a few other things well he had it. I will tell you that the Rave Valve Mod makes a noticeable difference in throttle response.

I have talked to Brent about the rave valve mod before. he said it was something they were playing with but don't usually bother doing on most bb it does ensure that the valves open all the way but he didn't seem to push it and said it wasn't relly nessary.

It must have been close to a year ago you talked to him about the rave mod. These two guys have refined the rave mod and it really works well.
