I've been guilty of not wearing it here and there, but have tried to make it a habit. I did have an issue on the XM with the tether cord getting hung up on the bars tho, wonder if there's a way I can alleviate that. Could be potentially dangerous if I'm side hilling in trees and my key accidently gets ripped off...

i dont know the whole story but a guy in my riding group got his arm stuck in the track and luckily the motor shut off. But his arm was pinned and they had to cut the track. He got and infection and they had to like split his fore arm open.

As for the teth air. My friend bought on and returned it cause he though that if you fall off and are sucked into your sled it wouldnt kill it, same could be for your teather??? but with the teth-air cant you set it so if its a foot away it turns off????

I wear mine, but I had to install it. Why don't all sleds come with them? Oems need to put them on at the factory .

I like the Polaris system. Lets you install it where you want it. So it's an option, but it's only $40.

Thanks for posting this. Just read on SW that he had a broken arm and 3rd degree burns on 70% of his back. Still he's lucky it wasn't even worse.

I will never own another sled without one, and If I see Someone not wearing theirs I will say something. Seen way to many close calls for my liking. I'm pretty sure my teather has saved me every year since I started wearing them. All sleds should have one

I just installed one on my new sled, however I still don't wear it as often as I should.
That video sure shows how quick and easy things can happen!

Have a teth air and love it, if set properly works great
Can't see me riding with a cord and dealing with it all day
Some sort of tether. Should be used either way. Going to put one on my apex next winter as that is the sled my. Daughter rides with me on, incase. Something goes wrong or she gets curious about the. Throttle sitting there

Pizzes me off that all sleds don't come with them. Gotta get my 2 new Cats set up pretty quick.

Location is at least as important as having them in the first place. My son has been both dragged over and trapped under his sled because his tether got wrapped around the bars. Tether was tied to his wrist both times, which I personally don't think is a good idea. Best setup I've had was on my Nytro. Pro Armour tether that clamped to the bar dead center under the mountain strap. NEVER got wrapped around the bars. Gonna find a way to do that center of sled set up on my new sleds.

In the case of the fall in the video, I would have hoped it would have worked, as he seemed to fall far enough away from the sled, and then the sled rolled down on top of him.

I wear mine religiously but I am not a big fan of the "new wave" that BRP has out as they don't stand up to very many disconnects. I get very p*ssed at the little beeping and the many times I have to push to get it re-set sort of thing.

Here is what I am looking at next year. I want something different and for those that like the sled brands without tethers here is an alternative.

put one on my Polaris last Nov for that reason. Had sled on top of me a couple years ago and could not imagine what would have happened if the track was going a millions miles an hr. Tks for sharing!

I was off and on with mine for years but this year most of the time but from now on ALL of the time chit that was scarey

also thats another reason I wear full armour but chit that track may just rip the armour off too
