I noticed in one of these threads maxwell stated that there will also be highmarking tickets this weekend. Now I am not a mountain rider but the part that confuses me is. The art of highmarking is going higher than your buddy on the hill. Now then if maxwell gets marked by rknight, rknight gets said ticketn but if rknight gets marked by sbr then does his ticket then get handed off to sbr. Then sbr gets marked by summitric then does ric get the ticket? Them maxwell again marks ric does he now get the ticket? This is all so confusing.

Maybe you should stop trying to piss everyone in this thread off and just let the boys rant, everyone knows that cops are known to be more thorough with sledders than any other demograffic, why this is is beyond me as we do bring a rediculous amount of revenue to these smaller towns. Lets just say that we should all try to follow the rules closer and that the RC'S should probably be a little less ignorant to us. Fair enough?

Hell ranting against cops picking on sledders, jeezus might as well say that the RC's on hwy 63 to mcmurrary are picking on trades people it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that that your speeding or doing something wrong, a group of us got pulled over this afternoon just because the cop wanted to pick on us trade guys, had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that we were doing 130 in a 100 zone.

Very intelligent post...you are doing a 130km in a 100km zone and get pulled over...Whats that got to do with us sledders getting pulled over when we are not speeding. Read the post....Cops are just singling sledders out while entering or leaving town for no other reason but for being sledders. I have been stopped twice while leaving town pulling an enclosed and when i asked the officer what the problem was he said " just a random check" but never once wanted to check any of the sleds for Reg. or insurance...just checked the truck and trailer out for everything he could then we were free to go. To me that is picking on sledders.

There you go picking on sledders have you thought that the cop was just doing his job "Cops are just singling sledders out while entering or leaving town for no other reason but for being sledders." They are not singling out sledders for being sledders. I have seen far to many accidents due to unsafe vehicles, trailers and sleds being improperly tied down or not tie down while in a enclosed trailer.

Apparently they towed a few trailers back to town to get the brakes fixed. I don't see a problem with this. If they keep finding "sledders" with defective equipment I think they will continue to "target" sledders

You may be right but they have never asked to even look inside the enclosed to see if the sleds are tied down...Maybe thats cause they aren't allowed in unless you decide to let them or else they need a warrant.

a warrnt is only need for a RV because it is your mobile HOUSE. unless you have living quarters in your sled trailer, they can go into it!

sorry they can enter a enclosed trailer if they wish, i had posted this awhile back when this topic had been raised in the mcbride thread about bringing paperwork

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys did a little research on this one for you. When going to BC both commercial and private vehicles have to prove that there loads are secure, this gives the RCMP or DOT reason to look inside your trailer. If you choose to tell the officer to pound sand you are looking at a minumum $598 fine for Fail to stop and secure Cargo. If you refuse to prove that your the load in your trailer is secure you are issued this fine and you will have to prove in court that your load was secure. This is a reverse onus charge where you have to prove that your not breaking the law, its not the only one that we have in Canada either. So its probably just as easy to let whoever is checking see your paperwork and they do have reason enought to check your loads, and by default then your sleds vins etc. And for those who are wondering I spoke with a friend who is a Crown Prosecutor and a RCMP officer on these so from the people you will be facing on the road/court.

i think about it.. and ya i was pissed when i got pulled over BUT!

1. my load was too long on my sled deck. 4ft from tail lights with no marker light. you need one past that.
2. driving with my fog lights on.. ya kinda stupud but right in the alberta and bc laws.
you are only to have them on if atmospheric conditions deem nessessary.
3. speeding.. my fault too. ( i wasnt at the time for once but still)

every one of thoes is all my fault!! so how can i blame someone for doing there job. no different then if you work somewhere and someone is not happy and freaking out at you on a job site or anywhere for that matter.. YOUR ONLY DOING WHAT YOUR JOB IS ENTITLED TO DO.

soo, if i was a normal person. i bet id get pulled over too for a load of 2x4s being to long. and all the rest.

everyone here is B@#CHING on here about how they are picking on sledders but here is a good number. over 70% of the rigs they pull over are not road safe. so. if your going down the highway through the pass and a moose jumps out infrot of your truck and there id a truck and trailer behind you and well the trailer brakes dont work. your not gonna be sledding for the weekend.

LIKE I SAID I WAS PISSED AT THE FACT. BUT THEN FOUND OUT THE FACTS AND IAM DANM GLAD THAT ITS HAPPENING.. CHECK YOUR STUFF BEFORE YOU GO.. PULL YOUR TRAILER BRAKE AWAY AND MAKE SURE THEY WORK. MEASURE YOUR LOAD AND IF ITS OVER 4FT FROM YOUR TAIL LIGHTS GO SPEND 30$ ON A LIGHT AND FLAG AND YOUR SAFE. I THINK ITS DANM SIMPLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

P.S. i think because of threads like this. all this stuff happens.. if you get pulled over. dont post it then the cops dont see it.. you know for a fact that they have a membership on here so just leave it be. vent to your wife, gf, mom, dad who ever just not on the internet!
