Considering a deck to fit a Long box 1 ton dually...

What brand ?

Any problems with the slide out sides?

Want long ramps 10' or more!

Also noticed some guys using turn buckels to the tie downs, is that strong enough ? or should they be bolted.....(what is the capacity of the tie downs ?)

Appreciate the reccomendations...

I think if Vaughn (From Marathon/TruckBoss Decks) should quit beating around the Bush and tell everone that for you to buy their Truck Boss Deck, (Even If It Turns Out To Be The Greatest Deck To Ever To Be Built In The Whole World) Adapt it to fit on your Truck and at a Bare minimum Slap on some Superclamps. A Long Box Model is $4295.oo which I need, add the $95.oo Adapter. Add two Superclamps at $189.oo Each How else are you going to keep your Sleds up there? Your price is going to be $4768.oo The Legs were a Extra Option before. But after they found out their was going to be problems decided to throw them in. (When I first phoned they weren`t included.) I can just see my Carbides Carving to hell the top of my Brand New $4800.oo Deck because I didn`t have any money left over for the $270.oo Carbide Protection Kit. I was totally looking into this deck when it first came out but it seems like They hope you don`t notice the price and just say Oh well i`ll just work some over time at the ole coal mine to cover it. For the $4000. dollars everyone keeps refering to you don`t even get a Short Box Deck because you still have to add the adapter. Their old deck was $3575. if you take off the Superclamps that were included before that`s $3197.oo Where`s the Truckboss advantage for the extra money. Darn I forgot to ask if the Headache Rack was included. On the Truckboss site it says it`s an Option. I`m not saying this is a BAD Deck just get the Darn price right.

Exactly! For a few extra bucks you could buy a really nice used enclosed trailer.

If anyones looking for a Full-Lotus Shorty (7 Ft. Short Box) Deck. I still have two ready to go and also still have some of the Rear Track Supports Brackets for the Deck as well. Adds 16" Makes the Total Support Length 102.5" More than enough to handle the Longest Tracks. see cltrailersales@facebook.com for some pictures. Thanks Guys.. AL

After the weather today at Valemount (Rain in the staging area) i would have loved an enclosed trailer. Everything was soaked, Face,Gear, Sleds. I was debating between deck and trailer and decided on the trailer today after i got soaked in the rain and watched my sled get soaked on the way back.

On the other hand, do you think you will miss the mobility of the sled deck around the staging area?

I get my truck boss on Wednesday. Pretty stoked. But yes it's a ton of money. I hope I like it. Loved my classic 8 '

I currently have a 12ft v nose Triton trailer. So it doesn't really make a difference to me. I want a heated enclosed trailer so I can store all my gear and thaw everything after riding. Decks at 4g's are getting too expensive in my opinion for what you get. I was at Allen Creek today and I would say the parking lot was 75% trailers.

I had a Marathon deck that I sold last summer. It was a great deck with the 12' extendable ramp, but I wanted an enclosed trailer. Sold my deck for $2800.00 and bought a new Cargo Mate Snow Bird 2-place enclosed for $6995.00 tax in. I couldn't be happier. Sleds stay clean and I've got a dry place to change in and out of my gear. This summer I'll get a furnace and small work bench installed.

You bet, I would.....just would like the longer ramp, can extension be ordered and added to the 8' ?????

the price is good, only i don't like the beaver tails, always in the way.
stf made a good unit, not sure if they are still building them or not. the longer the ramp the better. i have the stf , slides and tank under box. got 12 ft ramps, makes easy loading and unloading. as the girls say longer is better.:d

Last season there was wasn't any low elevation snow so I used my deck all year to drive up in revy. This year I am using my 4 place And it's sure nice to have the convenience of it. Decks have there place in the spring unless u want to ride miles of dirt to the snow

yes you are right, trailers are nice. early season and late season not so much. decks are good all year but have there own problems. seen many sleds land on top of trucks due to short ramps mostly.
