Diamond drive??

They've tied the secondary to a fixed distance from the primary and allowed the secondary to float in the chassis when the engine moves. Keeps center to center distance on the clutches always the same. Couldn't do that with a Diamond drive. I think the jury's still out on whether it's an improvement or not. Personally...I liked the Diamond drive.
I don't really know the answer to that, but one thing I know fore sure, it's night and day difference swaping a track on DD drive takes me about half an hour, swaped my buddys track the other night on 2012 procclimb took 2 of us 2.5 hours... it was painfull LOL
Cat found that they were losing a small amount of power through the diamond drive, not significant but it was more than was being lost in the chaincase and gear set up.

I remember the literature when it was first released I thought they said it was ten percent more efficient or something like that.

Not sure what the % was, but maybe that was the "no-oil prototype" that was more efficient...
That was directly from a reputable source who may or may not represent AC, makes sense considering it is now gone.IGBT

chains can be more efficient than gears but I would guess that a chain system with the same reduction as the diamond drive would be quite larger/heavier?

I told a guy this last year in Valemount while drinking a couple beers in the hot tub, he thought I was retarded, he said get a grip kid, you think arctic cat would run with a drive system that robbed power for all those years........? I asked him if he had driven the new proclimb, of course he said no, told him to drive an 11 m8 and a 12m8 and he could see for himself that there is a noticeable difference in power to the ground. And when we gave him the option to do so the next day when we seen him up on clemina he said no
