What is arctic man?

x2........ ?

Its good times, that's what it is!! This event is not held near Anchorage like it says in the one link, it is in the Hoo Doo mountains near Summit Lake between Paxson and Delta Junction Alaska and is roughly a 5 hour drive from Anchorage.

This is basically our last hurrah to winter and can be some of the best riding of the year depending on snow levels. If I can remember too, i'll take some pics and will post them here when I return.

Check it out. arcticman.com - Home

I was there back in 99. Huge event. I was working in North Pole and went with one of the guys from the refinery for the day. There is nowhere near by to stay so it's a sea of motor-homes and trailers. It was too cold when I was there so no streakers :(.

Yea, one of my customers has gone twice and competed on his second trip. It's definitely on my bucket list from what he told me about it!!!

I recommend you keep an eye on our winter before you plan your trip to Arctic Man, this year probably isn't the best year but that area probably has some of Alaska's best riding snow on a bad snow year. If you any of you decide to attend just let me know and I can put you in touch with right person to reserve you a camping spot.

Another Arctic Man is in the books! Due to bad weather they had to cancel the men's race but we still had a great time and rode in some of the best snow of the 2014/2015 season. We had blue bird skies yesterday and rode hard for a solid 4-5 hours. There was another foot or so of fresh on top of what was probably 6-7 feet of snow with a good base. Nobody was hurt and there was no sled carnage so it was a good trip. Only had one problem with one of our sleds, an Arctic Cat M8 had the primary bolt back all the way out and bore a hole through his side panel. Luckily for him the primary didn't come off on the ride out.

We ran into a young guy from the Yukon that was out riding by himself and was having sled issues and didn't have any tools. Luckily for him we were there and got his sled running, we invited him to tag along with us which he quickly agreed was a good idea. Apparently his buddies were all hung over (imagine that at Arctic Man) and he wanted to ride which is why he was alone.

Here's a few pics of the area where we did most of our riding.

Some more pics from Arctic Man, 9 Ski Doo XM's and 2 Polaris Pro's.

This was an area we found late Saturday afternoon and was untouched, deep pow. There was some small avy activity on the mountains straight across and to the right from where we were sitting. As of today that area is getting hit with more snow, I would go back and get more riding in but without a camper it's just too far to drive for a day trip.
