I put better boards on last year and they helped lots. Did not cost alot except for time. If you do decide to go this way I would recommend getting the coating on them. I got them without and the snow still builds up a bit. I tried to keep as much support as I could so I cut each hole out individually after using the better board as a guide. I all so left the support that was on the bottom of the running board. I scuffed it up and painted it red. Just so it looked like it belonged. I think they look good and they held up really well last winter. I had some pretty big guys on that poor girl and no problems with weakness in the running boards
